Τιμή: 4.00€ - 26.00€

Mount Helicon, one of Viotia mountains, with an altitude of 1748 meters has been famous by Greek mythology, as dancing Muses there inspired the ancient poet Hesiod to sing the dawning of the Gods; thus becoming an emblem of poetic inspiration. In one of Mount Helicon’s peaks, called the “the Muses mountain”, at an altitude over 1000 meters is where Emmelia fir tree honey is produced.

It is considered as one of the best honeydew/forest varieties in Europe, especially in Central Europe where it is quite common. In Greece it represents around 5-10% of total honey production. It stems mainly from the Physokermes hemicryphus insect in the Greek fir (Abies Cephalonica).

Its colour ranges between dark orange to brown, and its taste is of low sweetness and medium intenity and can be perceived as slightly spicy. Fir honey does not crystallise.
